It was 1989. I was a senior in high school, headed to Germany for a short exchange trip. My parents let me borrow their ST605N 35mm Fujica. I was met with ornate cathedrals, horizons layered with mountains. . . I wanted to record it all. Twenty-six years later, my understanding of photography hasn't changed: something beautiful presents itself and I push a button.

I believe that a successful photograph is one in which the client's reaction is not "What a great photo!" but rather: "She's so beautiful!"; "They look so happy!" I want capture an event accurately and in its entirety. This is in line with my journalistic shooting style, which is the result of natural inclination and my former job as a newspaper reporter/photographer.
